Mary M. Potter, age 82, of Council Bluffs, passed away January 2, 2017, at Risen Son Nursing Home. Mary was born September 26, 1934, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to the late Guy and Florence (Harris) Stumph. She married Delbert G. Potter on May 25, 1949, in Atlantic, Iowa. They were blessed with seven children. Mary was a homemaker and secretary for the family business, Delbert G. Potter & Sons Construction Co.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert G. Potter in 2004; sons, Douglas Potter in 1990, David Potter in 2015; sister, Garnett Cann; and brother, Ted Dunn. Mary is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Randall) Andresen, Darla (Steve) Lewis; sons, Dennis and Daniel Potter, all of Council Bluffs, Delbert Potter, Jr., of Harlan, Iowa; 19 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren; sister, Ethel Baker, of Webster City, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

Open visitation, Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Private family graveside Friday in Belknap Cemetery, Oakland, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Belknap Cemetery Tree Fund in care of the family.
