August 30, 1934 --- September 2, 1981

Robert Charles Gray, the son of Elwood and Ruth Dorr Gray, was born on a farm near Eagle Grove,
Iowa on Aug. 30, 1934. He died on Wednesday night, Sept. 2, 1981 at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, where he had been hospitalized for a week. He attained the age of 47 years and 2 days. He grew up on a farm northeast of Eagle Grove. He graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in the Class of 1953. On October 22, 1955, he was united in marriage with Kay Glantz at Boone, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple lived at Blairsburg, where Bob was employed at the Co-op Elevator. For the past fifteen years, the family has lived in Eagle Grove. He was employed at the Umthun Trucking Company for several years until becoming disabled. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.

Surviving are his wife, Kay of Eagle Grove; his children, Michael Gray of Phoenix, Ariz.; Dana Gray of Boise, Idaho; Katherine Gray of Phoenix, Ariz.; Susan Gray of Hardy; Deborah Gray of Eagle Grove; Elwood Gray of Eagle Grove; a granddaughter, Danielle Gray of Phoenix; his brothers and sisters, Betty, Mrs. George McCart of Eagle Grove; Phyllis, Mrs. C. J. Cooper of Eagle Grove; William Gray of Fort Madison; Ronald Gray of Kent, Ohio; Teresa, Mrs. Don Dodd of Waterloo; Rosalie, Mrs. David Sandvig of Fort Dodge; Paula, Mrs. David Eck of Cedar Falls; Lana, Mrs. Steve Nail of Joice, Iowa and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Gray of Eagle Grove and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Robert C. Gray were held on Saturday, Sept. 5, 1981 at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove. Rev Fr. John Hemann officiated and Fr. Norman White assisted with the Funeral Mass. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Rosary services were held on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
