Tillie (Reinen) BEISNER
December 17, 1904 --- July 6, 1997Tillie Beisner, 92, of Dows, died Sunday, July 6, 1997, as a result of a car accident in rural Dows. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11 from Vernon Lutheran Church in Dows. Rev. Glenn Kappelmann will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Lutheran Cemetery. Elledge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Monica Johnson will be the organist. Casketbearers will be Rex Beisner, Jay Beisner, Steven Wakefield, David Wakefield, Jeff Einspahr, Robert Benson, Wren Campbell, and Dan Wheeler.
Tillie Reinen was born December 17, 1904, in Jackson, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Eyben Reinen. Her early education was received in Minnesota and later the family moved to Spirit Lake. She attended Spirit Lake High School where she graduated in 1923 with her teaching certificate. She then taught in rural schools for five years. On February 12, 1930, she was united in marriage to Everett William Beisner in Minnesota. After their marriage they farmed in the Dows area and in 1940 they moved to their present home in rural Dows and farmed. Her husband died November 9, 1968, and she remained on the farm until her death.
Survivors include one son - Robert of Des Moines; two daughters - Delores Wakefield Reece of Brazil, Indiana; Rita Einspahr of Overland Park, Kansas; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister - Alma Wangenstein of Livingston, New York. Her parents; husband; two brothers; and four sisters preceded her in death. She was a member of Vemon Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the ladies aid.
