February 19, 1903 --- March 8, 1979

Funeral services for Mrs. Walter (Lois) Schuenhoff were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 1979 at the United Church of Christ, Congregational with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Myron Brockmeyer was the organist. Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Stevens provided the vocal selections. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Verna Sharp, Mrs. Electa Shupe, Mrs. Bessie Wilson, Lyle Clemsen, Ron Samson and Lewis Stevens. Pallbearers were Don Biggins, Tom Engler, John DeGarmo, Floyd Hill, James Reed and E. R. Stone.

Mrs. Lois Schuenhoff passed away March 8, 1979 at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital where she had been admitted a short time earlier. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She was the last remaining child of James and Mary Stocks of Early, Iowa having been preceded in death by her husband, Walter, her parents, one brother and seven sisters. Born February 19, 1903, Lois grew up in the Early area and attended school there. She worked as a young woman in Storm Lake, Iowa for Dr. Smith and it was there that she met Walter Schuenhoff, a young businessman. They married in Storm Lake on July 20, 1925 and in 1932 purchased a shoe store known as Schuenhoff’s Shoes in Clarion, la. They entered into the community as a young business couple and remained here taking active parts in church and community affairs. Clarion was dear to both Schuenhoffs.

She leaves to mourn a number of nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends from both the Clarion vicinity and several states. She will be remembered for her cheerful outlook, friendliness and involvement in such community activities as United Church of Christ Congregational, Women's Fellowship, Hospital Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, Kensington Club and the American Legion Auxiliary and the Wright County Genealogical Searchers.
