Rickey Dean Clayberg, 70, of Ames, died Nov. 13, 2016, at Mary Greeley Medical Center from a sudden illness. Rick was born on Jan. 1, 1946, in Story City to Richard and Florence “Pat” (Burnett) Clayberg. He graduated from Ames High School in 1964. He married Loween Schroeder in 1968. They later divorced. He was a talented florist, working in Ames, Boone, Belmond and Webster City. In 1988, he moved to Arizona where he worked for the Safeway Company as district manager for its floral departments. In 2007, he moved back to Ames and worked for a short time at Cub Foods before his retirement.

He is survived by his two sons, Aaron (Lisa) Clayberg, of Ames, and Nathan (Kelly) Clayberg, of Independence; four grandchildren, Austin, Carter, Rachel and Daniel Clayberg; sister, Patricia (Dennis) Swanson, of Story City; brother, Michael (Judy) Clayberg, of Altoona; nephew, Scott Hohenshell, and nieces, Wendy Warden and Marci Burns. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was cremated and there will be a private family service at a later date. Rasmussen-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada was in charge of arrangements.
