Tillie Engelson, the daughter of Thomas and Betsy Engelson, was born on a farm near Forest City, Iowa on May 18,1896. She grew up and attended school in Winnebago County, Iowa. She moved to South Dakota with her parents and later, she lived in Ortonville, Minn., where she worked as a waitress for many, years. In 1963, she moved to Eagle Grove to make her home with her nephew, Stanley Morse. She died at the Morse home early Thursday morning, June 6, 1963, at the age of 85 years, and 21 days. She had been ill with cancer for the past three years. She is survived by a niece, Gertrude, Mrs. Jim Dornbusch of Milbank, S.D.; several nephews including Stanley Morse of Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Miss Tillie Engelson, 85, of Eagle Grove, were held on Saturday, June 11, 1963 at 1 pan. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home with Rev. Don Callen, pastor of the United Methodist Church officiating and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday evening.
