April 1829 ----- July 25, 1902

The death of Russell Lee occurred last Friday evening at the home of his son, C. A. Lee, on Commercial avenue. Mr. Lee came to Eagle Grove from Barrytown, Michigan last June with his family to make their home with his son, being an invalid caused by paralysis. He was born in Trumbull county, Ohio, in 1829. His wife and four children survive him, the two sons in Eagle Grove and a son and daughter in Michigan. He was a soldier of the Civil War, having served in a Michigan regiment, and was a zealous, faithful member of the Christian church. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Lee home, Rev. Southwell conducted the services. The burial was in Rose Hill [Eagle Grove] cemetery. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved relatives.
