Wm. Lynch Passes Away At Age Of 82 Years
Was One Of The County's Oldest And Most Esteemed Residents
Services Held At Catholic Church
Wm. Lynch passed away at his home in the east part of town Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. At the time of his death Mr. Lynch was 82 years of age. He was one of the pioneer residents of this county and highly respected by all who knew him. The funeral services were held from the Catholic church Tuesday, conducted by Rev. McDonald. Since the death of his wife, Mr. Lynch has lived alone. Death was caused by pneumonia with which he was stricken several days previous to his passing.
There were many people in attendance at the funeral, both of his own religious faith and also of others. The deceased is survived by four sons and two daughters. They are as follows: John, of Clarion, and George, Will and Ed, who live east of town in the Morrison vicinity. The daughters are Mrs. Sam Frakes, of this place, and Mrs. Kate Brady, of Waterloo. Another daughter, Mrs. Herman Cook, preceded her father in death.

William Lynch was born in Cloyne, County Cory, Ireland, August 15, 1840. He came to this county at an early age and was married to Miss Ellen McGee in Freeport, Ill., in 1870. In 1873 they came to Iowa, settling on a farm near Grundy Center, which was their home until about nineteen years ago, when they moved to Grundy Center. Eight children were born to this couple, six of whom are living. Two daughters and the wife preceded Mr. Lynch in death, the latter passing away in 1907. The living children are Mrs. Ellen Frakes, Edward and John, of Grundy Center; George, of Morrison; Mrs. Kathryn Brady, of Waterloo, and William, Jr., of Reinbeck.
