Mrs. Wm. Lynch Found Dead in Her Bed Friday Morning

A veil of sorrow passed over the community Friday morning, when the news became prevalent of the sad death of Mrs. Wm. Lynch who passed away sometime during Thursday night unknown even to the members of her family until the following morning, when no response came to her call and upon examination disclosed the visitation of the hand of death during the night. Her husband was at his farm near Reinbeck, and the only occupants of the house was her daughter. Mrs. Lynch had been in usual good health and it seemed almost without verification that one in the usual good health could be called away so sudden.

An inquest was held by Coroner Corsaut, of Dike, who impaneled a jury composed of Father Hogan, L. D. Coffman, Will Mitchell, together with Dr. Thielen. The cause of her death was pronounced due to heart failure. It was thought she must have been dead about five hours.

Mrs. Lynch was born in Tyrone county, Ireland, in 1843, and passed away at her home during the night of October 10, 1907, being in her sixty-fourth year. She came to America when a young girl with a neighbor Mrs. Adams. She was united in marriage to Wm. Lynch February 17, 1870, in Carroll county, Illinois, to which union were born eight children, four daughters and four sons, of which number seven are still living together with the father to mourn the death of wife and mother. The children are Mrs. Mary Cook, Will Lynch and John Lynch of Wright county; Ed Lynch, Mrs. Ella Frakes of Grundy county and Miss Katie and John Lynch who are still at home.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynch resided in Illinois from 1855 to 1873 when they came to Grundy county, Iowa, in which county they have made their home with the exception of a few years when they lived in Wright county, Iowa, moving back to Grundy county about fifteen years ago.

Mrs. Lynch was a member of Sacred Heart church of Grundy Center having joined and was baptized by Father Henly twenty-five years ago. She has always been a faithful member. She had many friends throughout the county and was held in high regard by those who knew her.

The funeral services were conducted by Father Hogan at the Sacred Heart church Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment took place in St. Joseph cemetery.

Mrs. Chas. Zollers and son, Charles, and Mrs. Fife, both sisters of Chicago, and Edwin Lynch and children of Belmond together with all the children were present at the funeral services.

Wm. Lynch and family wish to express their sincere thanks to their many friends for their kind assistance during the burial of their wife and mother.
