Amos Henry Folkedahl was born to the parents, Peter Folkedahl and his wife, Guri, February 16, 1900, in Eagle Grove Township, Wright County, Iowa, and passed away at his home west of Goldfield, Iowa, March 27, 1944, at the age of 44 years, 1 month and 13 days. He received the Christian Baptism, was taught the way of salvation in Christ, and confessed his Christian faith in his youth. He attended the public schools of Wright county.

On July 1, 1923 he was united in marriage to Helen K. Rasmussen of Goldfield, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Folkedahl moved to their farm home west of Goldfield, where they have since lived. Two daughters were born to this union, Helen Marie and Alice Harriett, who now together with their mother, mourn the departure of a kind husband and father. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Thomas Lister of Eagle Grove and by three brothers, Chris of Clarion, Sam of Goldfield, and Joseph of Los Angeles, California and by a large number of relatives and friends. His parents, two sisters, Anna and Hilda, and three brothers, Herman, Ole and Willie, preceded him in death.

Amos was a kind and sympathetic husband and father, his rather sudden death will be felt keenly by his family. He was a helpful neighbor, interested in the welfare of his community, state and nation.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 1 from the Wilson Funeral Home at Eagle Grove, and from the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church. Burial was made in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Out of town people who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lister and family of Ottumwa, Iowa; Pvt. Orval Griffith, of Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. Bill Crowe, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Olson and Ole Olson, of Hanlontown, Iowa; Loren L. Douglas, S 2/c of Chicago, Ill.; Pvt. Gladys E. Douglas of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Claude Stober of Wallingford, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Christensen, of Swea City, Iowa; and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Jensen of Lone Rock, Iowa.
