Funeral services for Rella Howerter, 87, of Webster City were held Wednesday, June 22nd at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City. Rev. Edward Philgren conducted the 1:30 pm service. Interment was held in Memorial Park Cemetery at Fort Dodge. Mrs. Howerter passed away early Sunday morning, June 19 at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City.

Rella Harriet Beebe was born on December 24, 1894 at Dayton. She was the daughter of Lyle and Lola (Carson) Beebe. In 1908 the family moved to a farm southwest of Webster City. Rella graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught school in Wright and Hamilton Counties. On February 4, 1919 she married Lloyd Howerter at Webster City. The couple farmed in Hamilton county until 1929 when they moved to Wright county. They retired from farming in 1946 and moved to Webster City. Mr. Howerter passed away in 1981. Survivors include one daughter Mrs. Calvin (Beverly) Umstead, Tempe, Ariz; four grandchildren; brother, Glenn C. Beebe, Tempe, Ariz; sisters, Mrs. Carl (Marie) Johnson, Webster City and Mrs. Milo (Dorothy) Holder, Cheyenne, Wyo.
