Funeral services for Mary Gabrielson, 81, Winterset, will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Lindhart Funeral Home, Humboldt. Rev. Gary Grogan, pastor of First Baptist Church, Fort Dodge, will conduct the 2:00 p.m. service. Interment will be held in the Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Mrs. Gabrielson passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, at Des Moines General Hospital, Des Moines. During the service Julie Heitor sang, "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by Arlene Moritz. Bearers were Jim Anderson, Robert Leist, Ronald Leist, Carl Anderson, Jr., and Emerson Anderson.
Mary Leist was born on December 21, 1905 at Dakota City. She was the daughter of Joseph and Hannah (Heatherington) Leist. Mary was educated in Humboldt County. In 1930 Mary married Charles Hundertmark at Ottosen. The couple farmed near Ottosen until Charles passed away in 1938. Mary married Andrew Gabrielson in 1942. The couple farmed in the Stratford area for several years and moved to Thor. Mr. Gabrielson passed away in 1955. Mary later moved to Dakota City to live with her brother. She had made her home in Winterset the past several years. Survivors include brothers and sisters, Carl Leist, Dakota City; Joe Leist, LeRoy, Mn.; John Leist, Lime Springs; Ralph Leist, Madrid; Thomas Leist, Eagle Grove; Mrs. J. J. (Kathryn) Flemming, Fort Dodge and Mrs. Carl O. (Anna) Anderson, Dakota City.
