September 7, 1901 ---- June 10, 1963

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lehigh Methodist Church for Milford E. Wickwire, 61, Lehigh businessman. Dr. Cecil Semans officiated at the services and interment was held in the West Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Wickwire died Monday afternoon, June 10 at his home following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Twito of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota and a son Robert, a Webster County Deputy Sheriff; also six grandchildren. He was born at Woolstock, Iowa on September 7, 1901. The family moved to Lehigh when he was 12 years old. On October I0, 1924 he was united in marriage to the former Ardath Elsberry of Lehigh. The family has resided in Lehigh since that time. Mr. Wickwire had operated a tavern in Lehigh and also assisted in the Lehigh Post Office. Pallbearers were Albert Higby, Morris Lumsden, Clifford Johnson and Raymond Welch of Lehigh and Loren Okerblad of Pilot Mound and Vincent Holenda of Stanhope. Mrs. Sheldon Heck was the soloist accompanied by Mrs. Florence Thomas.
