August 13, 1921 ---- July 20, 1983

Funeral services for Gale N. Frakes, 61, Eagle Grove, were held Friday, July 22 at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Scott C. Hall conducted the 10:30 a.m. service. Interment was held in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Mr. Frakes passed away Wednesday morning, July 20, at his home of emphysema. During the service Kerry Amonson sang "His Eye is on the Sparrow" and "Amazing Grace," accompanied by RoiAnne Gearhart. Honorary bearers were Joseph Martini, Richard Sumners, Donald Conaway, Grayson Clagett, Earl Larson, Ernest Kiley, Lewis Larson, Richard Larson and Lars Larson.

Gale N. Frakes was born on August 13, 1921 at Goldfield and received his education in the Woolstock area. The family moved to Eagle Grove in the 1930's. Gale served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre. Gale married Lila Larson Warner in 1946 at Nevada. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove where he was employed by Iowa Public Service for many years. Survivors include his wife, Lila; daughter, Diana Nelson, Fort Dodge; sons, Donald Warner, Orlando, Fla.; Dareld Warner, Spring, Texas; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Royce Frakes, Eagle Grove; Earl and Melvin Frakes, both of Des Moines; Charles Frakes, Missouri; sisters, Mrs. Waldo (Evelyn) Widmann, Stratford; Elvira Reed, Clarion; Mrs. Jim (Dorothy) Wilson, Humboldt and Mrs. Ronald (Linda) Norton, Eagle Grove.
