October 9, 1908 ---- September 14, 1923
The Death Angel has again visited our community and taken from us Marvin Seely, son of John and Elizabeth Anguish Ferguson, at the early age of fourteen years, eleven months and six days; This being the first death in this large family in more than forty years.
Marvin Seely Ferguson was born in Troy Township, Wright County, October 9th, 1908 and moved with his parents to Liberty Township about twelve years ago, where the family have since resided and where the death occurred, September 14th, 1923. The funeral services were conducted at the family home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. A . E. Buriff, assisted by members of his choir in an impressive sympathetic, helpful service. The interment was in Glenwood Cemetery.
Marvin was the youngest of a family of eleven children. He was an affectionate, lovable boy, never strong and being the "baby" of the family was naturally the idol of the whole borne circle. His disposition was shown by the fact that his last thought was one of kindness towards others and his last word, was one of tender solicitude for his mother. We cannot understand why these hard things come into all our lives but we do not know that back of it all is a loving purpose and that some day we will have the beautiful explanation. We do know that the Great Gardener sometimes picks the choicest buds and flowers from His earthly garden to adorn the home above. Marvin leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, seven sisters, three brothers and eighteen nephews and nieces, all married but one and all living in the Goldfield community or in neighboring communities. Marvin lives and will continue to live in in the lives of his school mates and friends, especially in the minds and hearts of those of his immediate family, who knew him best and loved him most, as a sweet and blessd memory.
