Doris Theone (Wagner) Solheim, the daughter of Amos and Theoline (Johnson) Wagner, was born July 4, 1926, in rural Dayton Township, Eagle Grove, Iowa. The family moved to a farm northeast of Eagle Grove in 1935. Doris attended rural schools and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1944, and then attended Waldorf College in Forest City. On March 29, 1947, Doris was united in marriage with Martin Solheim at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The couple made their home on a farm south of Eagle Grove. Doris was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church. Doris enjoyed baking cherry pies and kringla, and picking the garden goodies that Martin had planted. Doris passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove, at the age of 90 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin in 2011; and brothers, Curt and Art Wagner. Survivors include her two sons, Ronald Solheim of Eagle Grove, and Mark Solheim of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Janice Danbom and husband, Jim, of West Okoboji, and Shirley Meyer and husband, Jerry, of Humboldt; two grandsons, Bradley Danbom of West Okoboji, and Jeffrey Danbom and wife, Jennifer, of Spirit Lake; five great-grandchildren: Laveda and Honorah Danbom, and Jace, Crew, and Talan Danbom; sister, Marie Green of Humboldt; sister-in-law, Lucille Wagner of Eagle Grove; and her nieces and nephews. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Private family services were held on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016. Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
