Barbara Kay Macha, 71, took her last breath while in her husband's arms on Friday, September 30th, 2016, at their farm home near Renwick, after a long and hard battle with liver disease. A memorial Mass will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 3, at the Renwick United Methodist Church from 4 to 8 p.m.

Barbara Kay Templeton, the daughter of Floyd and Margaret (Orr) Templeton, was born on June 9, 1945 in Hampton, Iowa. She graduated from Goldfield High School in 1963 and then attended Iowa State. She married and started her family; she then made her career working for the USDA Forest Service as a budget and financial manager, which resulted in her living in various regions of the United States. She retired in 1995 after 28 years of service.

In 1999, she was reunited with her high school sweetheart, Ellis Macha. They were married in 2004 in Galena, MO, and while enjoying life's journeys together, they also established homes and made many friends in Reed Springs, MO and Elsa, TX.

Barbara loved people, Boston Terriers, reading (her favorite author was Clive Cussler), spending winters in Texas, and cooking. She could put together a great meal for a crowd with little warning, and helped Ellis host many of his Boone Valley class reunions at their home. She also loved spending summers at Tablerock Lake, MO with very close friends. During her retirement years in Texas, she became known for making and selling beautiful bracelets. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

Barbara is survived by her best friend and husband Ellis; her sons, Jeffrey Robbins, Renwick, Jerry (Amy) Robbins, Cabot, AR, and Jimmy Robbins, Northglenn, CO; children Eric (Wendy) Macha, Frederick, CO, Amy (Lonnie) Reed, Arvada, CO, Dan Smith, Crystal, MN, and Chris Smith, Sacramento, CA. Surviving grandchildren are Jacob (Melissa) Robbins and their son, Luke, Maumelle, AR; Amber Robbins, Little Rock, AR; Kayla (Eric) Gomance, Caddo Valley, AR; Kenya Bartholomew, Longmont, CO; Holly Biesner, Vancouver, WA; and Emmitt Macha, Frederick, CO. She is also survived by her sister Pat (Melvin) Waller, Maple Grove, MN, and brother James (Joan) Templeton, Waterloo, Iowa, and brother-in-law Wayne Wilson, Menomonie, WI as well as several nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Mary Jo Wilson, Menomonie, WI.
