Vernon Rohrer's funeral Wednesday
Vernon C. Rohrer, 74, died early Sunday morning at Rotary Ann Home where he had been a resident since 1972. He had been an infirmary patient for many months. Funeral services were Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart Church in charge of Rev. Norman White. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Rohrer died just two days after his brother Cyril died on Friday at the Clarion Hospital. He is survived by his wife, who lives at the Rotary Ann apartments; three sons: Leonard and Jerome, both of Red Bluffs, Calif.; Richard, Fraser, Mich; 11 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brothers: Harold, Clarion; Russell, Seattle, Wash.; sisters: Mrs. Genevieve Melhus and Mrs. Eleanor Hoffman, both of Clarion and Mrs. Catherine Jerde, Webster City.
Born on a farm in Wright County, Mr. Rohrer attended country school and married Lena Mosher of Eagle Grove in 1925. He first worked as a mechanic in Clarion, then farmed south of Clarion for five years. They moved to a farm near Lake Cornelia until 1961 when he became ill and retired. The couple then lived in California, Goodell and Clarion, moving to the Rotary Ann Home in 1972.
