Cyril M. Rohrer dies Friday

Cyril Mathias Rohrer, 67, died Friday afternoon in the Clarion Hospital. He had been in failing health for some time and had surgery recently. His wife, Gladys, died five weeks ago. Funeral services were held Monday morning at Sacred Heart Church in charge of Rev. Norman White, and burial was in the St. Joseph's Mission Cemetery, east of Eagle Grove. Mr. Rohrer was employed by Schrage Implement Co. and the Eagle Grove Grain Co. for many years, and in later years was a self employed carpenter.

He is survived by three sons and three daughters, Paul, Marquette, Mich.; David, Davenport; Quentin, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Daryl Watts, Eagle Grove; Mrs. Larry Kroblin, Humboldt; Mrs. Raymond Heim, Humboldt; also 17 grandchildren; brothers: Harold, Clarion; Russell, Seattle, Wash.; sisters: Mrs. Genevieve Melhus, Clarion; Mrs. Eleanor Hoffman, Clarion; and Mrs. Catherine Jerde, Webster City. Mr. Rohrer was born in Woolstock Township of Wright County and attended the country school near Woolstock. He farmed southwest of Clarion until 1951 when he moved to Eagle Grove. He married Gladys Anderson of Eagle Grove in 1933 at Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove; she died Jan. 16 of this year.
