Frank William Sayre was born in LaCrosse county, Wisconsin, September 27, 1858. At the age of ten he moved with his parents and a sister by means of an ox team to Algona, Iowa, two years later removing to Waterbury, Neb. At the age of sixteen he returned to Iowa, settling in Humboldt county. In 1897 he established his home in Eagle Grove where he worked for the Northwestern R. R. company for twenty years. Twelve years ago he came to Clarion where he was employed by the Great Western Railway company. For the past two years he has lived on a farm northeast of Clarion. Mr. Sayre suffered for the past three years from persistent anemia which steadily increased until two weeks ago he was confined to his bed. He passed away Monday morning, August 26, at 9:55 o'clock. Mr. Sayre was a member of the Congregational church formerly in Eagle Grove and later in Clarion. Two brothers, one sister, and a son have preceded Mr. Sayre to the after life. He leaves to mourn his loss and remember his exemplary life one brother, David A. Sayre of Waterbury, Neb., besides his wife and two children, Earl H. Sayre, and Mrs. Ed. Burke both of Clarion. Mr. Sayre when in health was a man of considerable activity, faithful and trusted. He was a loving husband and faithful father, loyal to his ideals of life. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Wednesday at 2:00 p. m., Rev. H. O. Spelman officiating. Interment was in the Eagle Grove cemetery. Out of town relatives who were in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Will Sayre of Brookings, S. D., Mrs. Jennie Algra and son, Vinal Sayre of Volga, S. D., and Mrs. Eunice Higgins of Waterbury, Neb .
