July 25, 1891 ---- April 30, 1921
A message came to the Frank Sayre home Saturday from Mrs. Sayre, who was called to Brainerd, Minn., earlier in the week owing to the serious illness of a son, Dorr Sayre, stating that he could live only a few hours. Mr. Sayre departed that night for Brainerd, accompanied by his son, Earl, and daughter, Mrs. Ed Burke. Another message, reached here Sunday morning stating that Dorr had passed away before their arrival.
Dorr, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sayre, was born at Eagle Grove thirty years ago, and lived there until two years ago, when he removed to Brainerd, Minn., where he has been employed in the round house of the Northern Pacific railroad.
Complications following an attack of influenza caused his death on Saturday, April 30th, after more than two months of confinement in a hospital.
Besides the parents, one brother and sister, a wife and five year old son are left to mourn the death of a devoted husband and father. The remains will be taken to Eagle Grove where funeral services and interment will take place Thursday afternoon.
