December 31, 1905 ---- December 3, 1986

Penry W. Evans was born at Burt, Iowa on December 31, 1905, the son of George and Jennie Frakes Evans. He was raised and educated in the Woolstock area and farmed there for many years. On January 2, 1929 he was married to Maude Malaise at the Methodist parsonage in Webster City. They retired to Clarion in 1973. Mr. Evans was a former director of the Woolstock Telephone Co. and Wall Lake Township Waterman School. Penry W. Evans, 80, Clarion, died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion on Wednesday afternoon Dec. 3, 1986 He had been in poor health the past several weeks and a patient at the hospital for the past two weeks. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Mildred) Anderson of Woolstock, a son, Gerald of Webster
City; four grandchildren, four brothers, Harold of Ankeny, John of Canon City, Colo., George of Kanawha, Edward of Webster City; and a sister, Lottie of Webster City. His parents, one brother and one grandchild preceded him in death. Funeral services were held from the United Methodist Church Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Paul O. Pfaltzgraff officiating. Burial was in the French Cemetery and the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
