MRS. HARRIET PINDER PASSED AWAY FRIDAY

Another of our pioneers has answered the final summons of the death angel and passed to her reward last Friday evening at 6:45 o'clock. Mrs. Harriet Pinder was one of this community's most beloved women, having lived an unselfish and truly Christian life. Her health has not been the best this winter and at the holiday season she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Overbaugh near Clarion. For the past few weeks her condition has been critical and her children were called to be with her. Mrs. Lucy Crowley of Rock Rapids, being a nurse, has remained with her. The oldest son, Frank, of Alberta, Canada, was at her bedside for a few days, but returned to his home on Tuesday of last week, just three days before her demise. The other children live in this community. Mrs. Pinder's illness was caused from heart trouble, which finally developed into pneumonia the last few days, which was the direct cause of her death.

Having lived and worked in this community for the past sixty years she was well known and highly loved by all who knew her. This friendship was shown by the large number at the funeral services, which were held in the Goldfield Baptist church Sunday, January 17, conducted by Rev. Ira D. Halvorsen. Mrs. Halvorsen preached the message for the service. Pall bearers for this loving mother were Freeman Pinder, Hugh Zastrow, Chas. Overbaugh, Ernest Shoen, Harold Shoen and Asa Reichter. Burial was made in the family lot in Glenwood cemetery.
