Lewis A. McIntyre, 87, Passes Away Sunday

Lewis A. McIntyre, 87, a lifetime resident of the Goldfield community, passed away Sunday morning, June 6, at 1:15, in the Mercy hospital at Fort Dodge, where he had been a patient since March 17. Soon after being admitted to the hospital, he successfully underwent an operation, but later developed heart trouble which resulted in his death. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, with the Rev. J. C. Harris, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield.

Lewis Mclntyre was born in the state of Michigan, and when still a small child he came with his parents, to the vicinity of Goldfield. Upon completing his education, he taught school in Humboldt and Wright counties for a number of years, and later engaged in farming near Goldfield in Wright county, until he moved to Goldfield, where he continued his residence until the time of death. He was actively engaged in improving his farms up to the time of his last illness, and possessed an unusually rugged constitution for one of his age. In March of this year Mr. and Mrs. McIntyre observed their sixty-second wedding anniversary. Surviving are his wife, a son, Horace, a daughter, Mrs. Hazel McIntyre Baldus, three grandsons, several other relatives and a great host of friends. A complete obituary will be published in The Gazette next week.
