Roy Reeder was born in Clarion, Ia. on January 3,1915 to John and Maude Pults Reeder. He was baptized into the triune faith in 1927 at Rowan, Ia. On June 20, 1965 he renewed his baptismal covenant through the rite of confirmation at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. He died on May 15, 1973 at Heritage Home in Clarion after reaching the age of 58 years, 4 months and 12 days. Roy received his education in the Rowan and Clarion schools. On September 5, 1948 he was united in marriage to Claudia Ball at First Evangelical United Brethren Church in Fort Dodge. They made their home in Fort Dodge where he was employed at New Idea and as a bus driver. In 1955 they moved to Eagle Grove where he operated the City Service gas station. Roy suffered a stroke in 1967. On September 23, 1972 he had another stroke and was hospitalized at Veteran's Hospital in Des Moines. Since January of 1973 he has been a patient at the Heritage Home in Clarion. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Glen, Robert and Kenneth. Those who mourn his departure are his wife, Claudia; two sons, James of Otho and John at home; one sister; Gladys Thorn, Eagle Grove. Funeral services were held May 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
