Mrs. Julia Hill died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion on Saturday morning, November 10 at the age of 93. She was a lifelong resident of Wright County. Services were held from the United Methodist Church on Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. with Reverend Richard T. Hohl officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, and the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Paul Loomis was the organist and Reverend Hohl the vocalist. Grandsons: Steve, Mark and Douglas Hill, David and Dan Odland, Ken Crum, Paul Glade, Steve Klapperich and Jon Harris were casket bearers.
Julia was born on a farm in Grant Township on February 16, 1891 and was the daughter of John C. and Elizabeth Peters Woodin. She received her education in the Wright County schools. She was married to Myron C. Hill in 1911 and they farmed northeast of Clarion until retiring to town in 1950. He died in 1955. For the past two years she had lived at the Clarion Care Center.
Survivors include: two sons; Dale and Myron, Jr., and a daughter Lela (Mrs. Earl S. Odland) all of Clarion, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two brothers; Dewey Woodin of Belmond, C.C. Woodin of Northwood and a sister, Mrs. Lela Court of Clarion. Her parents, husband, two brothers and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hill was a member of the United Methodist Church, U.M.W. and Isabelle Thoburn Circle. She was also a member of the Ada Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
