C. R. HENDRICKSON

C. R. "Si" Hendrickson, 81, died at North Grand Care Center, Monday, March 31. C.R. Hendrickson was born June 23, 1904 in Dows to Charles and Anna (Peterson) Hendrickson. He graduated from Dows High School in 1920. After attending Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls; he taught school for four years. He earned a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University in 1928. On Nov. 26, 1931 he married Frances Holquist. Mr. Hendrickson worked for the Omaha Public Power District in the engineering division for 41 years and retired in 1969 as assistant chief engineer. The couple lived in Arkansas for 10 years before moving to Ames in 1981. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, president of Engineers Club of Omaha, Nebr., treasurer of Industrial Management Club, member of Public Highways Committee in Omaha, Omaha Chamber of Commerce and president of Omaha Movie Club. Survivors include his wife, Frances; a son, Richard Allan Hendrickson of Ames; a sister, Alice Brynteson of Clitherall, Minn.; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Upon his request his body has been donated to the medical research program at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Services in Des Moines. Memorials may be given to the Ascension Lutheran Church.
