May 14, 1894 ---- April 3, 1986

Albert A. Amundson, 92, died at the Belmond Care Center on Thursday morning, April 3, after suffering a heart attack. He had made his home there since June of 1984. Funeral services were held from the Church of Christ on Saturday at 11 a.m. Mark Young officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. The Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Doris Andrews was the organist and Gary Brandt the vocalist. Bearers were Tim and Scott Woodin, Steve Elston, Ron, Lee and Jim Amundson.

Albert was born in Hardin County on May 14, 1894 and was the son of Alex and Gurina Oyna Amundson. He received his education and grew to manhood in the area of his birth. In 1924 he moved to Wright County. On October 16, 1926 he was married to Hazel Honn at the Little Brown Church. They farmed in Wright County and in 1940 moved to their farm on Highway 3, west of Clarion. He retired in 1959. Mrs. Amundson was killed in an auto accident in 1962.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jerry C. (Marilyn J.) Woodin of Clarion, three grandchildren, Diane Elston, Tim and Scott Woodin, all of Eagle Grove, three great grandchildren; two brothers, Archie of Greensville, S.C., and James of Ames, and two sisters Mrs. Ann Osmunsen of Radcliffe and Mrs. Amos (Verdelle) Friest of Garden City. His parents, wife, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson, Jeff, preceded him in death. Mr. Amundson was a member and Elder of the Church of Christ.
