Emma Katherine Waak, daughter of William and Lizabeth Halfpop Waak, was born in Green Valley, Ill. on September 19, 1894. Emma made her home with her parents in Eagle Grove and following their deaths had continued to live in the home place alone. She had been employed in past years at the Wilson Company in Eagle Grove and Morton's in Webster City. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Emma's death was unexpected as she had been able to be up and around every day. She passed away Saturday, February 10, in her home, having reached the age of 78 years, four months, and 21 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Fred. She is survived by uncles and aunts and several cousins. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 13 at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Grove with Rev. Donald L. Forbes officiating. Interment was held on the family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery.
