Elsa M. Diggins died Friday, February 15, 2002, in Marshalltown, Iowa, at the age of 82. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Karen Wheaton; two grandsons, David and John Diggins, Portland, Ore.; four stepchildren, Pete Diggins, and wife, Marilyn, Marshalltown, Ronald Diggins, and wife, Dee, Circle Pines, Minn., Karen Kos, St. Charles, Mo., and Janine Johnson, Omaha, Neb.; 10 step-grandchildren; and 9 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. V. Diggins.

Memorial services were held on Monday, February 25, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, Marshalltown. Burial was held at the Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Elsa M. Diggins and her late husband were former Eagle Grove residents and teachers in the Eagle Grove schools.
