May 20, 1852 ---- March 17, 1917

William Channing Morse was born at Maquoketa, Iowa, May 20th, 1852 and died at his home on No. Lincoln avenue Saturday night, March 17th. On January 7, 1891, Mr. Morse was married at Rockton, Illinois, to Miss Emma Ella Morrison who died about one year ago, February 22nd 1916. Four children survive his death, Mrs. Richard Pauling, and Charles Morse of this city, Stephen J. and Lawrence W. now in the U. S. Navy. The deceased was among the early residents of this city where he followed his trade as painter and decorator and was a workman of superior skill. The funeral was held at the Catholic church Wednesday morning, the services being conducted by Rev. Father Nolan. The children and relatives have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
