Lucille I. Miller, 90, of Eagle Grove, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 15, 2004, from 5-7 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Stan Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Lucille I. Pohlman Miller was born on August 6, 1914 at Eagle Grove, the daughter of Clarence and Stella (Nelson) Pohlman. She has been a lifelong resident of Eagle Grove where she was raised and educated, except for living in Mason City with her parents for four short years during her childhood. On August 20, 1936, she married John Avery Miller, Jr. in Eagle Grove. They had a long and happy life together, John passed away on September 30, 1981. She worked as a receptionist and secretary for H. Max Groves Realty office for 30 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church, where she sang in the church choir for many years. She belonged to the Equality Club, Rotary Ann Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary.

She was an aunt to Kathy Williams and her husband, Gary, and family, of Eagle Grove, Marvin Carpenter and his wife, Barbara, and family, of Webster City; Archie Willard and his wife, Wanda, and family, of Eagle Grove; Karen Porter and her husband, Frances, and their family, of Des Moines, Mike Mosher of California; and a sister-in-law, Ione Knack, of Eagle Grove. They and many friends will miss Lucille's smile and charming personality. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Neut Pohlman in November of 1994, and a nephew, Larry Dean Mosher, in February 1971.
