Minnie Ernestine Raska was born in Suckow, Germany, on Jan. 1, 1884 and departed this life at her home, in Eagle Grove, on Monday, November 26, 1934, at the age of 60 years, 10 months, and 26 days. She was baptized in infancy in the Lutheran faith and later was confirmed and joined the Lutheran church at Eldora, Iowa. She came to the United States in 1891 with her parents. In 1900 she was united in marriage to Charles S. Brooks, who preceded her in death five weeks ago. She leaves to mourn her death two daughters Hazel Brooks, of this city and Mrs. Raleigh Van Sickle of Humboldt; and one son, Harold Brooks, of this city. The younger son, Robert, died in infancy. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Karl Raska of Eldora, and four sisters and three brothers. Out of town relatives at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tusicy, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sorenson, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Raska, of Radcliffe, and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Kebschall of Eldora, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Raska, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Robinson, Mr. Chas. Raska, all of Marathon.
