The funeral of De Etta Mae Bradford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee H. Bradford, occurred on Thursday afternoon, of last week, from the family residence.

De Etta was born on June 23, 1913 and died March 8, 1920, following an operation for removal of tonsils.

She was a very lovable child, having a very sweet and patient disposition, and had many friends, among young and old. Her passing will be very keenly felt by all who knew her. The sunshine of her presence will be missed in her home where she was the only child.

Rev. H. Fay Tyler conducted the funeral, speaking words of comfort to the grief stricken parents. He concluded his remarks with a very beautiful poem on "Passing Away."

Four little girls with bowed heads and dressed in white were flower bearers. They were: Bernadini Vike, Hazel Watson, Bernace Midland and Grace Hall. The pallbearers were: Eddie Stevans, Everett Blackman, Harold Walters, and Verle Grimes.

Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery. A large number of sorrowing friends and relatives filled the house during the funeral exercises, and a great many went to the cemetery.

Those present from out of town were: Mrs. Harriett Esler, of Escanaba, Michigan; Mr. Joseph Columb, brother of Mrs. Bradford, and wife of Rockford, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bradford and daughter, of Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. John Bradford, of Fort Dodge; and Mr. R. F. Bradford, wife and two children of Alden, Iowa.

Those living in Eagle Grove, besides her parents who mourn the going of little De Etta, are her grandmother, Mrs. L. S. Bradford, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Bolan and daughter.

Many beautiful floral tributes gave impression to the place little De Etta held in many hearts.

Passing Away

Oh no! Thou didst not die,
Thou, hast but lain the soul's frail
vistum by,
And soared to that firm height
Where days serene is followed by no
night.
And where the discipline of mortal
woe,
No shadow over thee can ever throw.
Why should we weep for thee,
When thy pure soul from every ill
is free?
Our only tears should flow
For those, the loved, who linger still
below,
From whom the light of thy dear
smile has fled,
Who feel, indeed, that thou art with
the dead.
Thou art not dead! For death
Can only take away the mortal
breath;
And life commencing here,
Is but the prelude to its full career;
And Hope and Faith the blest
assurance give— ,
"We do not live to die! We die to
live!"
