Mildred L. Griffith, 96, of Clear Lake, formerly of Eagle Grove and Goldfield, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2006, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28,2006, at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Pastor James Cunningham officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove.

She is survived by her daughters: Karen Anderson of Clear Lake and Mary (Griffith) Meeker of Beaver, Utah; five grandchildren: Laura (Anderson) Toohey of Britt, Lisa (Weyer) Palmer of Hudson, Mitch Anderson of St. Paul, MN, Marty Weyer of Arizona and Mike Reyna of Shellrock; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; sister, Leone; brother, Norris and sons-in-law, Richard Anderson and Jerry Meeker.

Mildred Lillian Griffith, the daughter of Lewis and Olga (Oldson) Lilleskau, was born December 29, 1909, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1927. On February 26, 1934, Mildred was united in marriage with Cecil Griffith, at the Lutheran Parsonage in Eagle Grove, he preceded her in death in 1968. Mildred later married Clarence A. Larson of Goldfield; he died on January 22. 2002. Mildred lived in Eagle Grove until 1975, when she moved to Goldfield and resided for 28 years. She moved to Clear Lake two years ago. Mildred was a member of the Congregational Church now the United Church of Christ where she was active with Sunday school and the Church Bazaar. She was also a member of the Garden Club and Rotary Ann Auxiliary. Mildred enjoyed crocheting, knitting, flower arranging and was an excellent seamstress. Mildred worked for Grahams Clothing Store, Schoonovers Grocery Store, Pixler's Bakery, and Christensen Flower. The Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
