March 15, 1902 ---- November 20, 1979

Mrs. Evert (Mary Frances) McGrath, 77, died Tuesday afternoon at Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge.

Mary Frances Donly was born at Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Porter and Amy Scott Donly. She attended school in Eagle Grove. She graduated from Iowa Teachers College, Cedar Falls, now the University of Northern Iowa. Then she taught public school in Rippey for one year and married Evert McGrath of Eagle Grove in Rippey on March 25, 1922. After their marriage they moved to Eagle Grove where they lived since that time.

She was past president of P.E.O. Chapter, past president of Equality Club, past president of the Cecillian Club, past president of the United Methodist Women, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, member of the W.C.T.U., and a Gold Star Mother, member and past president of the library board and Iowa Merit Mothers.

Survivors include: her husband, Evert; two sons, Don L., Eagle Grove; David, Waterloo; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Frances) Mellgren, Elkins, W. Va.; eight grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Thomas A. (Clarice) Gardner, Denver, Colo. Preceding her in death were her parents and one son, John.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 24,1979, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Callen officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
