April 6, 1874 --- May 11, 1942

Eugenia Sigstad was born to Lars Sigstad and wife Goemer Sigstad in Wright county, Iowa, April 6th, 1874, and died in her home at Eagle Grove, Monday morning, May 11th, age 68 years, 1 month and 5 days. She was baptized unto Christ in infancy, received instruction and confessed her Christian faith in her youth.

On December 20th, 1894, she was united in marriage to Olai T. Scott of Clarion. Mr. and Mrs. Scott lived on their farm in Norway township, Wright county, for 20 years, moving to Eagle Grove in 1914, where Mr. Scott passed away August 12th, 1934. She is now survived by three brothers, Martin, Gustave and Melvin Sigstad, all living in Canada. Also by three sisters, Mrs. Alta Goslin, Clarion, Mrs. Louise Martinson, Williams, and Mrs. Mabel Lee, Princeton, Minn. She is also survived by a large number of relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Scott was well known in her former home community of Norway township, as well as in Eagle Grove, where she lived for 28 years. She had a large circle of friends who loved and respected her highly. She was a kind and helpful wife, a good and agreeable neighbor. She loved her God and Saviour dearly. She took an active part in things pertaining to His kingdom, both the work here at home and on the Foreign Mission fields. She served as president of the Ladles' Aid Society several terms. For several years she had not been able to come to church, but she always appreciated the ministry of the word and the Sacraments.

For some years she had some difficulty in hearing, and said that she wanted to do what she could so that others who may have the same difficulty may have the opportunity to hear the gospel of Christ, and receive the blessings from it. So she gave to her church a Crystal Tone Hearing Aid System. It so happened that this system was installed in the church the same day she passed away. May those who shall have the opportunity to hear the gospel by use of this hearing aid system, remember the generosity of Mrs. Scott, and thank God for the kindness she showed the church she loved so much.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon from the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church. Burial will be made in Rose Hill cemetery, in the family lot.
