November 24, 1855 ---- January 30, 1922

Geo. F. Haines was born in Richmond, Ind., Nov. 24, 1855. In the spring of l866 he moved with his parents to the farm one mile east of Iowa Falls, Iowa. He has spent all of his life in Iowa, except for eighteen months, which were spent in Sunny Side, Ark.

Schooling — In addition to his common school education, he spent two years as a student in Miami College, Ohio.

Married Life — On June 25, 1884, he was united in marriage to Dora Warner. They moved to a farm located between Popejoy and Alden. Here they remained for three years, then moved to Eagle Grove, where they have lived for the past 24 years. One child was born to bless this union.

Religion — Mr. Haines was raised by and among Friends. A few weeks ago he asked to receive Christian baptism, which was administered by the Methodist pastor.

Death — Mr. Haines has been in failing health for a couple of years. He spent a couple months at Hot Springs in the hope of finding relief. On the 9th of September 1921, he was operated on in Des Moines. This resulted in temporary relief. He began to fail and the end came Jan. 30, 1922. At the time of his death he was 66 years, 2 months and 5 days old.

He Leaves — His wife, Flora, their daughter, one brother, Chas., and a half-sister, Mrs. Lulu Nelson, both of Iowa Falls.

Funeral Services — Were held in the home on North Cadwell, on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. The sermon was preached by Rev. W. G. Muhleman from the text found in Heb. 1 1-16.

Interment — Was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
