Leslie C. Tveit was born November 23, 1913, to Amie and Annie Larson Tveit at Eagle Grove, Iowa. He attended Eagle Grove High School. He married Ruth Gray of Clarion in 1936. They farmed several years in Wright County. He operated a hog buying station and owned a trucking business. The couple moved to Goldfield in 1971. He worked as a groundskeeper at the Oakridge Golf Course for a short time. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.

Leslie C. Tveit died Thursday, September 4, 1997, at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City at the age of 83. Survivors include a son, Eugene and his wife, Diane, of Las Cruces, NM; three daughters, Colleen Tasler and husband, Dennis, of Webster City; Arloeen Pauls and husband, Bruce, of Maquoketa; and Sheila Breon and husband, Mike, of Overland Park, Kan.; sixteen grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Bea Nielsen of Eagle Grove, and Mildred Campbell of Clarion. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; and a sister, Arlene.

Funeral services were held on Monday, September 8, 1997, at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Franz Schemmel officiating. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
