Wayne Earl Fawcett was born in Humboldt, Iowa on September 29, 1917 to Clarence and Sylvia Giddins Fawcett. He died at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge, Ia. on March 3 after reaching the age of 55 years, five months, and four days. Wayne attended the Humboldt schools and was graduated from Eagle Grove High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, serving during World War II in the Pacific area. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Malaise on November 12, 1946 at Merrill, Wisc. They had lived in Eagle Grove since that time. For the past 25 years, Mr. Fawcett was employed by Oldson Plumbing and Heating in Eagle Grove.

He was preceded in death by his father. Those who mourn his departure are his wife, two daughters: Nancy of Eagle Grove and Kay (Mrs. James Spencer) of Fort Dodge; his mother, Mrs. Sylvia Fawcett, Eagle Grove; brothers, Bernard and Marvin of Omaha, Nebr.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on March 6 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
