Harold Burdette Sunner was born on July 22, 1925, the son of Carl and Helen Harris Sunner. He attended school in Eagle Grove and graduated from high school in Eagle Grove. He also attended college at Cedar Falls. In 1948 he started farming west of Eagle Grove. He also sold insurance part time. He was married to Barbara Ruth Kindwall of Alta on May 28, 1949 at the Alta Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife; two sons: Dr. Gregg, Ankeny; Scott, Davenport; his mother, Mrs. Carl Sunner, Eagle Grove; four brothers: Dr. Gerald, Spencer; Gordon, Clear Lake; Dr. Kurt, Laurens; Dr. Paul, Ida Grove; and one sister, Mrs. Helen Chapman, Eagle Grove. He died suddenly at his home July 12, 1975 at the age of 49 years, 11 months, and 20 days.

Services were held at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove, with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. July 14, 1975.
