Lillian M. O'Hair, 91, of Eagle Grove, died Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Graveside services were held on Saturday, December 27, at 2:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Lillian M. O'Hair was born on October 4, 1912 in Vilas, Miner County, South Dakota, the daughter of Ole and Bertha (Nelson) Knutson. She moved to Hawarden, Iowa, as an infant and attended school there until her senior year when she moved to South Sioux City, Nebraska to live with her sister and finish high school. Lillian graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1931. Lillian worked for T.S. Martin Co. in Sioux City until 1936, when she moved to Chicago and worked in advertising and publicity for the Drake Hotel. She also served as a personal secretary for Carlos LeBret, U.S. Counsel for the country of Uruguay. In 1939, Lillian moved to California and worked as an assistant Executive Secretary for the Chamber of Commerce in Anaheim and also recruited volunteers for each branch of the service. She had joined the Coast Guard Temporary Reserves in Balboa where she processed and fingerprinted volunteers for the program. In 1944, she returned to Chicago and worked for various companies in the merchandise Mart and the Chicago Furniture Mart. At one time she was the assistant show room manager and a model for the McMullen Dress Company in the Palmer House Hotel. On February 1, 1954, Lillian married R. Craig O'Hair in Chicago at the Fourth Presbyterian Church. They lived in Chicago, Evanston, and Wilmette until moving to Eagle Grove in 1967. While living in Eagle Grove, Lillian worked for Kramersmeier's Drug for several years and was a welcome wagon hostess. Her husband died in May 1968. There were no survivors.
