Richard Harold Fisher was born March 2, 1918, the son of Carl and Martha Johnson Fisher at Eagle Grove. He attended rural Eagle Grove schools. He was united in marriage to Beverly Jones of Eagle Grove December 18, 1941, at Princeton, Mo. The couple returned to Eagle Grove for a time before moving to a farm north of Holmes. They later relocated near Dows before making their home in rural Dumont in 1959. Richard Harold Fisher died at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, from complications after heart bypass surgery, September 10, 1991. He had attained the age of 73 years, six months, and eight days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Eldon. He is survived by his wife; son, Richard Jr. of Algona; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Kathleen) Boots, Hampton; Susan Fisher, Emmetsburg; and Mrs. Darrell (Joanne) Anselme of Ankeny; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Garland, of Muscatine.

Funeral services were held September 14 at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev. John Tousley of the Washington Reformed Church, Dumont, and the Rev. David Miller, First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, officiated at the 10:30 a.m. services with burial held in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
