Delores "Dee" Egesdal Christopher

December 10, 1926 --- May 19, 2000

Delores Christopher was born Dec. 10, 1926 to Olaf and Jennie Louise (Twedt) Egesdal at Clarion. She grew up on the home farm near Thor and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. On Dec. 1, 1946, she married Russell Gene Christopher at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eagle Grove. She enjoyed golf, bowling, card playing, traveling, spending time at the cabin at Clear Lake, being with her grandchildren, and being at family gatherings. For numerous years, Delores spent much time with Darrell Evans and his family from Clarion. She also volunteered many hours at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove.

Survivors include four children: Sally (Mrs. Roger) Brauman, of Mt. Pleasant; Tom, of Eagle Grove; Peggy (Mrs. Mike) Hammes, of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and Deb (Mrs. Brad) Wilcox-Johnson, of Moline, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Margarent Egesdal Bloudoff, of Oroville, Calif.; and Selma Egedal Davidson, of Naples, Fla.; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Oscar and Oliver Egesdal.

Delores Christopher died Friday, May 19, 2000, at Iowa Methodist, Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Paul and Susan Stone officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. The Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
