Harold Warren (Corky) Rooney, was born July 30, 1945 at Cedar Rapids. He was the son of Harold and Margretta Callary Rooney. The family lived in Webster City until 1961. They moved to Eagle Grove where Rooney graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1964. He was employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in the Sioux City district until becoming disabled in an accident 10 years ago. Since that time, he has resided in Yankton, S.D. Harold Rooney died in a hospital in Yankton, January 13, 1994, at the age of 48 years, five months, and 13 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, and step-father, Earl Orr. He is survived by cousins, Charles and Nancy Evans, Webster City; Laura Evans Schnabel, and Lana Evans Jenkins, both of California. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 18 at the Kastler Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. The Rev. Edgar James, pastor of the United Church of Christ Eagle Grove, officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
