Edwin Sigvold Berg passed away Friday morning, August 3, 1979, at the age of 81 years, in his home in Eagle Grove.

Edwin was born to Ole and Carrie Walker Berg on December 26, 1897, in Eagle Grove, and attended the rural school there. He was united in marriage to Edith Helgevold on September 5, 1923. This union was blessed with five children, two daughters and three sons. They lived on a farm outside of Eagle Grove where Edwin farmed. In 1961 he retired from farming and they moved into town.

Those who mourn his departure are his wife, Edith, three sons, Norman of Iowa City, Eugene of Eagle Grove, Edwin of Eagle Grove, one daughter, Marjorie Krosofsky of Santa Barbara, two grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Sylvia) Arthur, of Eagle Grove and Ida Toresdahl of Eagle Grove. Preceding him in death were his parents and one infant daughter.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 6, 1979, 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Marvin A. Berkland officiated and interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery Eagle Grove.
