January 22, 1871 --- June 16, 1959

Funeral services for Walter Clyde Yarnell, 88, who died June 16th as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident in Roswell, N.M., were held June 20th at the Sacquety Chapel. Rev. Roy Cox officiated and casket bearers were Harley Derscheid, Glenn Derscheid, Lester Cannon, J. H. McCart, T. E. Sadler, and Clyde Sims. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery besides the graves of his wife and daughter.

Walter Clyde Yarnell, son of James Yarnell and Lettie Davis Yarnell, was born Jan. 22, 1871 in Martin County, Indiana. He received his early education there and when a young man moved to the Eagle Grove community. On March 24, 1901 he married Viola McPherson. Subsequently they returned to Indiana for some 9 years returning to Iowa and engaging in the farming business. In 1920 he moved to Roswell, N.M., where his wife died March 1, 1923. He then returned to the Eagle Grove community and resumed farming for another 8 year period, returning to New Mexico in 1930 where he remained until his death.

Survivors are two sons, two grandchildren, one great grandson and a brother. A daughter Florine died in childhood in 1919. Sons are Glenn and Marlon C, both of Roswell. His brother is Emmett Yarnell of Loogootce, Ind.
