July 19, 1902 --- December 24, 1983

Glenn Yarnell, the son of Walter C. and Viola McPherson Yarnell, was born on July 19, 1902 at Loogootee, Indiana. At the age of ten years, he moved with his parents to the Eagle Grove, Iowa area, where he grew up. On May 28, 1925, he was united in marriage with Monice Violet Fleming at Eagle Grove. The couple lived in Iowa a few years and then moved to New Mexico, where they lived for many years, then lived in Mississippi for one year and had lived in Goldfield for the past 18 years. During his life, Glenn was a farmer, and for many years, worked for a produce firm and in the 1920s he served in the New Mexico National Guard. Mrs. Yarnell died on October 1, 1983. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Goldfield.

He died on Saturday night, December 24, 1983, at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion, where he had been a patient for the past ten days. He attained the age of 81 years, five months and five days.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeannette, Mrs. Richard Lowe, Jr. of Bloomfield, Conn., seven grandchildren, Lowery Yarnell, Gregory Yarnell, Bobby Yarnell, Melissa Yarnell, Mechelle Yarnell, Steven Lowe, Celia Lowe, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Bob Yarnell.

Funeral services for Glenn Yarnell, 81, of Goldfield, were held on Friday, December 30, 1983 at 2 p m at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Rev. Kenneth Peterson, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Goldfield, officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Thursday at the funeral home.
