September 19, 1864 --- May 21, 1903

The city was shocked last Friday morning by the intelligence of the death of Miss Addie Dornan. She had been sick but a few days and but few knew she was ill. She died Thursday evening with acute peritonitis. Dr. Morse was in charge and Dr. Fairchild, of Clinton, was called in council. Everything was done that medical science could suggest but without avail. Miss Dornan has lived in Eagle Grove about fifteen years and had formed a large circle of warm friends.

She was a member of the Rathbone Sisters, Brotherhood of American Yeoman and the Equality club. Her aged mother alone survives her of the family. The funeral was held at the home on Iowa Ave. Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. G. W. Southwell, of the Methodist church conducted the services. The burial was in Rose Hill cemetery beside the remains of her brother Bert, who died about two years ago. The bereaved mother has the sympathy of the entire community.

The K. P's. and Rathbone Sisters had the direction of the funeral and the floral tributes of these societies and the Equality club were profuse and beautiful. The choir consisted of Eugene Schaftter, Bert Lindley, Miss May Piatt, Mrs. Walton with Mrs. E. C. Piatt organist.
