February 18, 1894 --- July 18, 1932

Mrs. Catherine Fiala Reynolds, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Benda Fiala, was born at Tama, Iowa, February 18, 1894, and passed away at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa., Monday afternoon, July 18, at 3:45 o'clock, being 38 years and 5 months of age. She moved to Eagle Grove in 1908 when her father was transferred here, this place being her home since. On the 16th of August, 1913, she was united in marriage to John Howard Reynolds of Eagle Grove. To this union were born two daughters, Edythe and Loretta Mary.

She had not been in very good health for several months and had been confined to her home for six weeks. She faced the ordeal of an operation with unusual fortitude and courage, realizing that her life depended on its successful outcome. Her sickness delayed the family in moving into their new home, in which it was decreed she was to live but a week. The stricken husband, daughters and parents have the deepest and most sincere sympathy of the community in the hour of their greatest sorrow.

Those attending the funeral from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Curtis, Swea City; Mrs. Frank Rhuble and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Langermann, Buffalo Center; F. A. Uchytil, Toledo; Wencel Fiala, Marshalltown; Mrs. F. Zake, Tama; Mrs. Charles Kratoska, Ames, and Leonard C. Reynolds, Chadron, Neb.
